Use cases

Feature voting inside a mobile app

A modal sheet in your iOS or Android app, with back handling and no push setup.

Put the feedback board in your iOS, Android, React Native or Flutter app as a WebView sheet. Signed in with SSO, tagged by platform, back button handled.

Set it up

  1. Load the embed URL

    One URL in a WKWebView, Android WebView, react-native-webview or webview_flutter. Posts and votes are tagged iOS or Android.

    https://theyasked.me/embed/northwind?platform=ios&hideHeader=1&token=<sso-token>
  2. Present it as a modal sheet

    Your header owns one control, the ✕. With hideHeader=1 the board shows its own “← All requests” on request pages, so there is never a second back arrow.

  3. Map the back button

    Listen for theyasked:navigate. While canGoBack is true, send the embed back; otherwise dismiss the sheet.

    if canGoBack {
      webView.evaluateJavaScript("window.TheyAskedEmbed.back()")
    } else {
      dismiss(animated: true)
    }
  4. Refresh the token when it expires

    On theyasked:token_expired, fetch a fresh token from your backend and hand it over. No push setup needed: the What’s new tab carries an unread badge and email covers the rest.

    window.TheyAskedEmbed.identify(newToken);
