Why AI product teams pick TheyAsked over UserJot
UserJot and TheyAsked both sell to teams that work with AI agents, and both start at $29 a month for MCP. The difference is what the agent learns. TheyAsked tells it which requests matter by revenue and who asked, and lets you connect claude.ai in one click.

Short answer
Pick UserJot if you want a feedback board bundled with live chat, a shared support inbox and the Juno support agent, or if you want the largest MCP tool surface (80 tools) and unlimited team members on a $29 plan. Pick TheyAsked if your agents need to decide what to build next: requests are ranked by unique voters, the MRR of the companies voting, momentum and opportunity, and one call returns who asked, their plan and what they pay. TheyAsked also connects to claude.ai and Claude Desktop with OAuth, renders interactive views inside Claude, and lets you hand an agent a read-only connection.
Why AI product managers and engineers pick TheyAsked
Requests ranked by the revenue behind them
TheyAsked ranks every request by unique voters, the MRR of the companies voting, 14-day momentum and opportunity. UserJot sorts by votes and flags trending requests, and its pages describe no revenue or MRR ranking. When your agent asks what to build next, a request from three paying accounts should beat one from forty free users.
Who asked, in one call
The `who_asked_for` tool returns the plan mix, companies with their MRR, platforms, importance and the voters’ own words for any request. On UserJot an agent lists voters, then looks up each member, then adds things up itself. One call is faster and leaves less room for the model to get the sums wrong.
Connect claude.ai with OAuth, not a pasted token
TheyAsked supports OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration, so claude.ai, Claude Desktop and ChatGPT connect with a sign-in and a consent screen. API keys are there too for Claude Code and CI. UserJot uses bearer API tokens only, and its own guide says ChatGPT on the web cannot use a custom MCP URL with a token.
Agents get exactly the access you choose
TheyAsked has 10 granular scopes and a separate `/mcp/readonly` endpoint that never exposes a write tool. UserJot says a token can reach the whole workspace, and its agent can delete requests, comments, boards and changelog posts. On TheyAsked, destructive tools need an explicit confirm, customer text is fenced as untrusted data, and every AI action lands in an audit log.
Answers you can see and act on inside Claude
TheyAsked ships MCP Apps views: a ranked ledger with sparklines, KPI cards, segment breakdowns, request and account cards, and charts, right in the Claude conversation. It also ships 5 MCP prompts (weekly digest, triage, roadmap review prep, release notes, account brief). UserJot’s MCP pages describe neither views nor prompts.
SSO and every board on the $29 plan
TheyAsked Pro at $29 a month includes unlimited boards, a custom domain, end-user SSO with a signed JWT, the REST API, webhooks and MCP. On UserJot, SSO and unlimited boards come with Professional at $59; Starter at $29 has 5 boards. Price is flat per workspace on both, and voters are never billed.

When UserJot is the better pick
- Teams that want support and feedback in one tool: UserJot bundles live chat, a shared inbox, email-to-post and the Juno AI support agent.
- Agents that need the widest write surface: UserJot’s MCP has 80 tools, including attachments, comment pinning, subscriptions and deletes.
- Larger teams on a budget: UserJot Starter at $29 has unlimited team members, while TheyAsked Pro includes 10 seats. UserJot Free also gives 2 boards against our 1.
- Native iOS and macOS apps that want an SDK with built-in presentation helpers rather than a WebView.
Moving from UserJot
UserJot does not document a data export, so ask its support for a CSV of your requests, or pull them through its REST API (the same API its MCP runs on). Then open Settings → Import in TheyAsked and drop the file into the spreadsheet importer: it takes CSV or XLSX, lets you map columns, and brings in titles, descriptions, boards, statuses, tags, authors, vote counts and voters by email. Add plan and MRR to companies through SSO, the API or `upsert_company`, and the revenue ranking starts working on the requests you already have. New workspaces start on a 14-day Pro trial.
Questions
- Is TheyAsked a UserJot alternative?
- Yes. Both give you a public feedback board, a roadmap, a changelog, a widget, a REST API and an MCP server from $29 a month. TheyAsked adds revenue-weighted ranking, a one-call answer to who asked, OAuth for claude.ai and interactive views inside Claude.
- Does UserJot rank feature requests by revenue?
- Not that we could find. UserJot lets you attach companies and traits to users and sorts requests by votes and trending, but its pages, docs and pricing describe no MRR or revenue ranking as of October 2026.
- Can I connect UserJot to claude.ai?
- UserJot’s MCP uses a bearer API token, and its guides cover Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, ChatGPT desktop and Windsurf. claude.ai custom connectors sign in with OAuth, which UserJot does not document. TheyAsked supports OAuth with dynamic client registration, so you add `https://theyasked.me/mcp` and sign in.
- UserJot has 80 MCP tools and TheyAsked has 33. Is that a problem?
- Only if your agent needs the extra verbs, like attachments, comment pinning or deletes. TheyAsked covers the loop an agent runs most: find similar requests, log a request or vote for a customer, comment, change status, rank by revenue, see who asked and publish the changelog. It leaves delete tools out on purpose.
- How much does TheyAsked cost compared with UserJot?
- Both start free and both charge $29 a month for the plan with MCP. TheyAsked Pro includes unlimited boards and SSO at that price; UserJot puts those on Professional at $59. TheyAsked Business is $99 and Enterprise $499. Both price per workspace and never per voter.
